Brazil and Argentina are the two teams most often picked to progress to the finals among the competing groups, with France and England completing the top four semi-final selections. Other tournament favourites, Spain and Germany, were drawn in fewer groups than the United States to advance to the semi-finals.
Brazil and Argentina are set to advance to the finals in over 25% of groups, ranking at 28.2 and 27.7 percent, respectively – far, far ahead of the United States (10.7%) and France (7.1%).
Let’s dive into how the numbers are broken down and take a look at some of our talent bracket picks below!
- Netherlands (Group A): 78.3%
- England (Group B): 72.1%
- Argentina (Group C): 84.0%
- France (Group D): 77.1%
- Germany (Group E): 58.6%
- Belgium (Group F): 69.2%
- Brazil (Group G): 95.9%
- Portugal (Group H): 67.0%
Argentina and Brazil are not only favorites to reach the finals in our groups, but they also have relatively weak groups. So it makes sense that a large majority of bracket entries have these two teams advancing from their respective groups and winning them outright.
The Netherlands also benefit from a low-rated group that includes host nation Qatar. Despite not being one of the favorites to reach the final or even the semi-finals, the Dutch are the next most common choice to win their group with 78.3%. England and France complete the top five.
And don’t worry about the United States – the USMNT are the most common choice to finish as runners-up in Group B (58.4%) and advance to the knockout stage.
How important is Christian Pulisic?

Brazil lead the way as the top seeded team to advance to the round of 16, with an overwhelming percentage of the bracket in their favor.
Defending champions France surprisingly have slightly less support than England to reach the knockout stages. England have won the tournament only once, in 1966.
The USMNT is also a popular team to advance to the round of 16, with 45% of punters showing some love for the new team.

- Argentina: 67.7%
- France: 43.7%
- Portugal: 26.1%
- England: 25.2%
- United States: 19.4%
To no one’s surprise, Brazil continue to lead the way, with reigning champions France gaining some popularity.
On the other hand, the group’s competitors are not very sure of England reaching the quarter-final stage. of The Three Lions move from third most likely to reach the round of 16 to fifth most likely to reach this stage.
Advance to the semi-finals
- Brazil: 39.9%
- Argentina: 34%
- France: 28.2%

Bracket entries are nothing if not consistent. Brazil and Argentina are still the two best backed teams to reach the final four. But there is a surprise – the United States are right up there with England as a popular choice to reach the semi-finals.
In other words, the contenders are looking for the USMNT to make a deep run.
