How to join the Android 13 QPR2 Beta program on your compatible Pixel phone
Once the first Beta of Android 13 QPR2 has been released, you will go to Settings > The program > System update and install it. Once you’ve downloaded the Beta, you won’t be able to exit the Beta program and go back to the Stable version of Android 13 unless you wipe your phone until March 6th to keep that in mind.
Now, if you want to continue with the Beta program and have not yet exited it, there is nothing you can do and you will get the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1 update as soon as it arrives next week. Keep in mind that Beta software is not stable and some features and applications you need to use may not work with Beta installed. Also, you may notice a drop in battery life while using the Beta. So make sure that using the Beta is right for you before you join.
Here are some of the new features for certain Pixel models available in the December Feature Drop
If for some reason you haven’t received the December Pixel Quarterly Feature Drop on your eligible Pixel phone, check out the update at Settings > The program > System update. The update includes Clear Calling (Pixel 7 series only) which removes distracting background sounds for clearer phone calls. With new speaker labels, you’ll know who said what when you listen to meetings you’ve recorded using the Recorder app.
The Pixel 6 and 7 lines (Pixel 6a excluded) can now monitor how often you cough or snore while you sleep, and the Pixel 6 and 7 lines (again, not the Pixel 6a) will now translate your texts in five languages more (Arabic, Danish, Vietnamese, Swedish, and Persian). That means users can translate text messages on compatible Pixel models into one of 21 different languages. And next month (January 2023), those using Pixel Buds Pro with Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, or Pixel 7 Pro will be able to hear ambient sound when surround sound is turned on. These are just the highlights.
What will the March Pixel Quarterly Feature Drop bring? For now, we can only dream.
