Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated Celebrates 85th Founders’ Day on January 24

WASHINGTON, in 2023 January 11 /PRNewswire/ – Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated will celebrate the organization’s 85th anniversary. January 24 held commemorative events Washington January 27 – January 29 themed “Tell Them We’re Still Rising.”

Marion Turner Stubbs Thomas founded Jack and Jill Philadelphia in 1938 with an idea in mind Louise Truitt Jackson Dench to nurture and educate African American children. They were joined by a group of several new black mothers who overcame the challenges of racism and the Great Depression by banding together to provide their children with enriching experiences, activities, and friendships.
