LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — City National Bank announced today that Martha Henderson, the bank’s long-time executive vice president of Entertainment Banking, will take on the role of vice chairman of Entertainment Banking. JaHan Wang, formerly head of East Coast Entertainment Banking, has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Entertainment Banking.
As vice-chairman, Henderson will continue to play an important role in Leisure Bank, particularly in the group’s work with clients and on strategy.
When she joined City National, Henderson was one of just 16 colleagues on the bank’s new Leisure Banking team. She was made head of the business in 1989. Under her leadership, City National’s team of 250 associates now provides financial expertise to over 90% of entertainment industry managers, over half of shows Broadway, over 80% country music. business in Nashville, and some of the biggest names in the Latin sports and entertainment industries. She led the strategic expansion of Entertainment Banking into New York, as well as the opening of the bank’s first offices in Atlanta and on Music Row in Nashville in 2011, and, most recently, in Miami in 2019. She serves on the boards of Friends of Saban Community Clinic and The Geffen Playhouse, of which she was a former co-chair, and volunteers her time to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.

Wang has been with City National for 16 years and has been the head of East Coast Leisure Banking since May 2021. He has over 30 years of banking experience and has held a series of to hold increasingly senior roles in Leisure Banking since joining the team as vice president and chief credit officer. Before joining City National, Wang worked as a relationship banker at national corporate bank Citibank. He began his career in JPMorgan’s corporate middle banking division as a relationship banker.
Wang was nominated to the Class of 2022 by Leadership Music, a nationwide nonprofit educational program and forum for recognized music industry leaders. Active in the community, he has spent his time with New York Cares since 2017, supporting various charities in and around New York, and has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles since 2020. member of the Business Leadership Council for the Central Park Conservancy since 2022.
Wang has joined the bank’s Executive Council and reports directly to Rich Raffetto, president of City National.
