
GREENSBORO, NC (theACC.com) – NC State’s NCAA record holder Katelyn Tuohy was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track Women’s Performer of the Week for the second time this season, while reigning world leader Jeremiah Davis of Florida State earned ACC Men’s Field Performer honors for the third time.
Tuohy and Davis headline a list of five student-athletes currently ranked in the nation’s top five in each of the nation’s best events, including four ranked No. 1.

Katelyn Tuohy, NC State
The Wolfpack redshirt sophomore is a Dr. in New York City. At the Sanders Invitational Columbia Challenge on Saturday, he broke the NCAA indoor record by finishing in 4:24.26. The previous record was 4:25.91. Defined by Jenny Simpson of Colorado in 2009. The Stony Point, New York native is off to a strong start this indoor season. In December, she ran 15:15.92 at the Boston University Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener in the 5000m, a national best time and No. 1 this season. In addition to her record times, the redshirt sophomore has captured two national titles (outdoor 5K and cross country) in the past eight months. Tuohy was also named the USTFCCCA Male and Female Athlete of the Year earlier Tuesday.
ACC Women’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week
Synclair Savage; Louisville
Savage broke the Louisville school record in the women’s track and field meet for the second year in a row, leaping 6.52m (21-4.75) to take first place at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. The mark currently ranks fifth nationally and bested her previous record of 6.44m (21-1.5) she posted two weeks ago at the Cardinal Classic. The junior from Kennesaw, Georgia then cruised to victory in the 60-meter dash, running a personal-best time of 7.41.
ACC Men’s Indoor Track Co-Performer of the Week
Giano Roberts Clemson
Roberts PR’d twice in the 60-meter hurdles at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by the Tigers. 7.67 in the first prelims. Then he reached the finals again with 7.66. The New Jersey senior’s final time at Maplewood ranks as the fastest in the nation this season and fourth-fastest in school history.

Conor Murphy Virginia
Murphy opened the 800-meter run at Penn State Nationals with a personal-best 1:47.41. That time ranks first in the ACC and sixth in the NCAA this season. That time is also the third-fastest indoor 800-meter time in Virginia history. Murphy continued to compete for the Cavaliers on day two of the 800-meter medley relay. Murphy took the baton and clocked a 1:48.53 split, giving his teammate Yasin Sado a huge lead as the Cavaliers won the race with a time of 9:27.80. That time set the Virginia record for DMR and stands as the fastest running time in the NCAA this season.

Jeremiah Davis Florida State
Davis extended his world lead in the long jump with a gold medal throw of 8.21 meters (26-11.25) at the Razorback Invitational hosted by Arkansas on Saturday. Florida State The Lehigh Acres senior is now one of only two NCAA Division I competitors to clear more than eight meters in the indoor long jump in 2022-23, and Davis has made four of his six attempts this season.
