Weah almost scored the second goal, but the side referee called his goal offside.

First half: USA 1, Iran 0

The United States dominated possession in the first half, winning the possession battle 61% to 39%. He also outscored Iran 9-0 in the first 45 minutes.

46′ – Pulisic is eliminated for Aaronson

Pulisic finished the first half but could not continue in the second half. Aaronson will play left wing instead.

Josh Sargent opened the second half for the USA with a shot on goal. It is clear that the US does not plan to play conservatively, even with the precious lead.

Iran piled on the pressure in the second half, but the USA is holding on to a one-goal lead.

Gregg Berhalter fumbled two defenders — Walker Zimmerman and Shaq Moore — in an attempt to keep the lead.

The United States needs a win to advance to the tournament’s knockout stage — anything less would result in its elimination. Iran, meanwhile, only need a draw and England to beat Wales to secure their place in the next round.
