It’s a Starbucks tradition unlike any other: the return of the coffee chain’s signature holiday drinks and holiday cups.

Starbucks released its holiday drink menu on Thursday. The menu features classic drinks including mint mocha, caramel brulee latte, roasted white chocolate mocha and chestnut praline latte.

The menu also includes the return of seasonal coffees such as the Christmas Blend and the Holiday Blend.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Starbucks’ holiday cups, which were introduced in 1997. The company will unveil four new cups to kick off the festive season.

“We’ve always talked about the mugs as little gifts, and we hope they will be a holiday gift for our customers and store partners,” said Gary Jacobson, chief creative officer of Starbucks.

Starbucks holiday cups for 2022

The coffee giant said it is releasing four celebratory mugs to commemorate 25 years of celebratory mugs.

Gift-wrapped magic. A red and green mug with “wavy ribbons and sparkling sparkles” reminiscent of gift wrapping.

Hair sparkles. This mint green mug features starbursts and diamond shapes.

A wonder of ornaments. The standard white Starbucks mug gets a festive makeover with a pattern of holiday symbols like ornaments and Christmas trees.

Cozy Evergreen. This bright red mug features a pattern of white Christmas trees.

What’s on Starbucks’ Holiday Menu?

A number of notable drinks will return to this year’s menu, including the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Roasted White Chocolate Mocha and Irish Cream Cold Brew. Starbucks will also bring back the Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte after introducing it last year.

Debuting this year is the Chocolate Pistachio Swirl, described by Starbucks as a “creamy chocolate filling with notes of cinnamon and coffee, whipped in butter

brioche-inspired dough with mint chocolate chips and topped with chopped pistachios.”

What about Red Cup Day 2022?

Starbucks has yet to confirm when it will host this year’s Red Cup Day, when the coffee chain gives away a reusable, limited-edition red cup along with a holiday or fall beverage.

Last year’s Red Cup Day took place on November 18, two weeks after Starbucks unveiled its holiday drink menu.
